Sandra Blackwell

Sandra Lee Blackwell, 69, of Texas City, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, August 4, at EmkenLinton Funeral Home with Charles Goodnight officiating. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock. Visitation will be 5 7 p.m., Wednesday, August 3, at the funeral home.

Ms. Blackwell was born October 23, 1941 in Galveston, Texas, to Sidney Richard and Ruby Hagelman Blackwell. Sandra lived her entire life in the Texas CityLa Marque area. She was a graduate of La Marque High School and Lee Business College in Galveston, Texas. She was a retired secretary from the United States Army Corps of Engineers and 3 Ts Shipping. She was an active member of the Mainland Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents and greatnephew Christopher Allen Faust.

Survivors include her sister Joan Blackwell Faust and husband Billy Joe of Texas City her nephews: George Faust and wife Kimberly of Texas City, Jeffrey Faust of Houston, and Robert Faust and wife Olivia of Hitchcock greatnieces Isabelle Faust and Ilana Faust of Hitchcock greatnephews Isaiah Faust of Hitchcock, Riley Cooper and Ryne Cooper of Texas City numerous other relatives and dear friends.

Pallbearers are David Gunnels, Will Dent, Stephen Sunquist, John Nelson, Ray Brannon. Honorary pallbearers are Isaiah Faust, James Sunquist, Carl Simpson and James Ponds.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society or American Heart Association.
