Shelly Whitley

Shelly Rene Whitley, 61, of Dickinson, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center. Shelly was born December 20, 1954 in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of William Ruyle and Patricia McCool Ruyle. Shelly was the beloved wife of Larry Whitley.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.

Shelly attended Texas City High School and graduated from Galveston Community College as a Certified Surgical Technologist, where she worked at Mainland Medical Center for many years. Shelly retired from Mainland Medical Center in 2012 where she had countless friends.

Shelly leaves behind her devoted husband, Larry; her cherished children, Brad Cox, Misty Moffitt, Traci Quilter, EJ Whitley and Charles Whitley; She also left behind her loving brother, Clay Ruyle, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

Shelly was an incredibly kind and generous person who loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed traveling on cruises with her husband.
