Stanley Praesel

Stanley Dean Praesel, 67, of Santa Fe, left our world too soon and entered into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Monday, January 17, 2022 after an asthma attack.  He was preceded in death parents, Larry and Bobbie Praesel.  Stan is survived by his sister, Carol Mayne, brother-in-law James Mayne; niece, Melissa Mayne McDonald and husband Kevin; his Aunt, Mary Bounds; his nephew, Beau Mayne and wife Kristi and great-nephews, Caden McDonald, Tristyn & Jasper Mayne and great nieces, Alex Bloch (and husband Dylan), Victoria and Aaliyah Williams. A private celebration of life will be held at Emken Linton Funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Stan had a special place in his heart for many charities including St. Jude and the Ronald McDonald House of Galveston. He has not gone, just gone ahead and we will join him when our Heavenly Father calls.

Stan was a construction building inspector with Eric L Davis Engineering and enjoyed working with area builders. He appreciated the outdoors – planting and landscaping and he loved music, his favorite musician was Van Morrison.  He had a passion for fishing, wood working and making many decorative and useful Texas themed storage items.  He loved to cook, bake, eat and share our old family recipes. He was looking forward to retirement, to do some remodeling, woodworking and carpentry.  He was smart, meticulous in a good way, because he believed in doing things right, he was handsome, funny, charming, strong, and avid sportsman. He was blessed with so many talents: he was neat as a pin and organized, he could fix anything & also enjoyed rebuilding cars.

Most of all Stan loved God, his friends and family and he was a Great Friend, he always SHOWED UP to help anyone. When we lose someone we love, we must learn NOT how to live without them…BUT to live with the love they left behind. We will not be sad, we will rejoice that he is in heaven, and we will remember him with his favorite bible verse

Psalm 4:8 I will lie down and sleep in peace for you alone O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
