Susan (Leigh) Bourne Lott

Susan (Leigh) Bourne Lott died at Memorial Hermann Hospital on March 16, 2024 (Houston, TX) at the age of 56. She had been a resident of Houston for fifty years.

She was born on April 27, 1967 (Jackson, MS) to Dr. Thomas C. and Martha Flowers Bourne. Susan spent her early childhood in Wilton, CT, and then she moved with her family to Houston in 1975. Susan graduated from Memorial Senior High School in 1985, and then she attended Mississippi State University. She returned to Houston, and worked for more than three decades as a legal assistant. Prior to her death, Susan began a new career as a real estate agent. Susan's many interests included art and design, and she loved dogs (especially her Schnauzer, Milo).

From early childhood, Susan had a sincere interest in helping other people, and she always offered a cheerful smile to her family, friends, and neighbors. Her family was truly blessed by her quiet life of faith and caring for others.

Susan is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Harvey Lenoir and Ruth Smith Flowers (West Point, MS), and her paternal grandparents, Horace Alton and Eva Smith Bourn (Clinton, MS). She is survived by her parents, Thomas C. and Martha Flowers Bourne (Little Rock, AR), her brother, Thomas David Bourne, M.D. (Little Rock, AR), and her ex-husband, Leslie Lott, Jr. (Houston, TX).

The family is so thankful to the nurses and physicians who cared for Susan during her final days. A private funeral will be celebrated in Little Rock, AR. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Houston Humane Society, the American Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.
