William Lawson Massey, III, 53, of El Paso, Texas, passed away Monday, October 23, 2023.
Services will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 29, 2023, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church at 3816 Bellaire Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77025.
Born in El Paso, Lawson grew up all over Texas and graduated from high school in Sulphur Springs. After, he graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos.
Lawson was a loving father, husband, and brother; he was a devoted family man. He was a proud member of the Boy Scouts with his son William. He was an avid reader, captivating storyteller, and golf aficionado. Lawson was devoted to service; he was on the Board of the Houston ISD Foundation and was an active member of his community. Lawson recently enrolled in the Rice University Executive MBA program, which invigorated his love of learning. He never met a stranger and was quick to help anyone in need. He was larger than life and loved unconditionally. He adored his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carley Elizabeth Armstrong. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Lack Massey; children, William Lawson Massey IV, Madeleine Marie Massey, and Caroline Carley Massey; father, William Lawson Massey Jr. and stepmother, Anne Kremer Massey; sister, Charlotte Massey Boyd; brother, Daniel Adam Armstrong; brother-in-law, Brandon Roger Lack; sister-in-law, Maryhelen Cooper Murray; nieces, Mia Mary Boyd, Molly Jane Boyd and Lucy Elizabeth Boyd; nephews, River Law Armstrong and Wilder Jones Armstrong.
Honorary pallbearers are Daniel Adam Armstrong and Brandon Roger Lack.
