Chief Warrant Officer -4 Anson Crawford Usn (Ret)

Monte Anson Crawford, 90, of Texas City, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Good Friday, April 2, 2021

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City. Burial will follow at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home.

Monte was born July 30, 1930 in Delhi, Oklahoma. He served in the US Navy and Naval Reserve for 42 years. He also worked at UTMB for 33 years. He was a deacon, trustee, and treasurer of Highlands Baptist Church. He was a 67-year member of the Irving Masonic Lodge #1218. He was also a member of San Felipe de Austin Chapter #1, La Marque Council #406, San Felipe de Austin Commandery #1, Order of the Eastern Stars LaMarque #979 and Friendswood #1131; he served his chapters as Worthy Patron 9 times. He was a member of American Legion Post #0490.

He is preceded in death by his parents Anson Lee and Mary Lee Crawford, brothers Buck and Troy, and sister Irma McElroy.

Survivors include his precious wife and best friend of almost 57 years, Antoinette (Toni), children and their spouses Molly and Noel, Marsha and Taylor, Monte Jr. USN (Ret) and Amy, and Millie and Kevin, grandchildren Jessica Crawford Owens and Nathan, Johnathan Norwood and Michaela, LTJG USN Carl Norwood and Mikaila, Makayla Crawford, Elliott Norwood, Paul Copeland, and Anslee Copeland, great grandchildren Jace and Oliver Owens, brothers Mervin and Thel, and sisters Vera Murray and Kate Robertson.

Pallbearers are Noel Norwood, Taylor Hendrix, Kevin Copeland, Johnathan Norwood, Elliott Norwood, and Paul Copeland.

Memorial donations may be given to Knights Templar Eye Foundation (knightstemplar.org/ktef) or, Shriners Burns Hospitals for Children (shrinershospitalsforchildren.org).
